Sambuca di Sicilia

Sambuca is charming town steeped in history and beauty. Tucked in southwestern Sicily, Sambuca di Sicilia perches atop Monte Genuardo, overlooking the beautiful hills in the Belice valley and Lake Arancio. The air carries the perfume of lemon trees, wild rosemary and the horizon is stitched with vineyards and olive groves. The towns history reflects its rich Arab heritage, where sunlit narrow cobble stone streets wind past balconies draped in flowers. Here, mornings begin with the smell of fresh bread drifting from the bakery, church bells marking the hour and friendly neighbors greeting you by name as you depart for your local cafe. The medieval architecture, ancient churches, art galleries, museums and a wonderful selection of authentic Sicilian restaurants, cafes and bakeries add to the warmth that envelopes you the moment you arrive.
